2016 Kia Sorento Engine Recall - She tried to start it a few times and nothing. Had it towed to the nearest kia dealer. It seems the problem is coming up then the cars get to a certain milage with most failing between 100k and 150k miles. Also enclosed was a form to recover costs for vehicles that have incurred costs for repairs prior to this notification. My 2013 sorento has 120,000 miles and is a 4 cylinder. If code thrown again, i'll be added to the multiple cars they have waiting for new engines.
My vehicle fell under the recall that passed the original test. My vehicle is 2016 kia sorento sx v6 with 3.3l engine 6 cylinderi bought the vehicle used but it had been serviced faithfully with records from kia but being a second owner the power train warranty stops at 60,000 miles instead of 100, 000 miles if i were original owner. She tried to start it a few times and nothing. We now have to go through the next steps to see if they will in fact cover my new engine, otherwise my car is basically junk! Took to kia as code detected at aaa car center, will take up to 2 weeks for them to run diagnostic.

I checked it over and the starter was burned up. I verified in my records that i had the ksds update done after getting the recall notice in 2018.
