The engine crankshaft has a key slot and the key engages both the upper pulley which drives the hydraulic pump belt and the driven part of the electric clutch. I have a 2007 cub cadet i1050 mower. The briggs and stratton has a 1 shaft vs the kohlers 1.25 shaft.
